The Building Opportunities for Leadership & Development (BOLD) Diversity Internship Program for Summer 2012.

This program is designed to provide exposure into the technology industry for students who are historically under-represented in the technology sector. In addition to working on projects that tackle today's business problems, this 8-week paid internship provides students with personal and professional development programming, executive speakers and mentoring in addition to an insider's look at a business career at a technology company.

With this in mind, we announce the BOLD Engineering Internship in 2012. Current undergraduate students majoring in Computer Science or closely related will be selected to participate in this program.

The program will include a variety of components which will range from country to country to tackle the issues that we face in each unique culture:

• Software Project: A development project that you will work on in a team of Googlers.
• Skills-Based Training & Professional Development: Enhance your coding skills; get exposed to new tools and programming languages. Attend technical talks by Googlers.
• Mentorship: Be matched with a Google engineer, other than your manager, to guide you through your summer experience.
• Fun: Social activities, community building and networking. Build a relationship with your peers.
• Exposure: A unique glimpse into applying your computer science studies in a professional environment.
• Responsibilities:
• Intern projects are determined based on the experience, skills, and interests of the student.

• Be currently enrolled in a 4-year BA/BS program, majoring in Computer Science or closed related
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in systems software or algorithms

Q: 아직 군대를 마치지 않았습니다. 군 미필자도 지원이 가능한가요?  
A: 정규직 입사를 위해서는 군 복무를 마치신 군 필자이셔야 합니다. 군 미필자는 지원이 가능하지 않습니다.  

Q: 해외 취업에 결격사유가 없으려면 어떤 조건을 구비해야 하나요?
A: 취업 비자를 받으시는 데 문제가 없으셔야 합니다. 남자분이라면, 군 복무의 의무를 마치셔야 합니다.  

Q: 영어 실력은 어느 정도여야 하나요?
A: 영어로 다른 엔지니어와 의사소통하는 데에 어려움이 없을 정도이면 충분합니다. 이를 확인하기 위해, 기술 면접 전에 영어 면접을 진행할 예정입니다.

Q: 코딩(coding) 실력은 한국 포지션보다 더 뛰어나야 하나요?
A: 그렇지 않습니다. 구글 엔지니어 채용 과정에 있어 기술적인 실력을 체크하기 위한 채용 기준은 동일하게 적용됩니다. 한국 포지션에 합격할 수준이시라면, 충분히 통과하실 수 있습니다.  

Q: 채용 절차와 소요시간에 대해 알고 싶습니다.
A: 지원 후 2주 안에 서면 심사 통과 여부를 이메일로 알게 됩니다. 이 후 영어 면접, 1차 기술 면접을 통해 적합한 포지션이 결정되며, 2차 기술 면접 (3회 연속 진행)을 통해 최종 합격자가 가려집니다. 보통 지원부터 최종 합격까지 약 50일 정도 소요됩니다.

Q: 언제부터 근무가 시작되나요?
A: 최종 합격 결과는 6월 중에 받게 되며, 실제 근무 시작은 9월 이후가 될 것입니다. 정확한 근무 시작일은 팀과 의 합의 하에 결정됩니다. 졸업예정자의 경우에는 졸업 이후에 근무를 시작할 수 있습니다.

The Role: IT Field Technician

As Google grows, the number of Google locations is growing too. As an IT Field Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the needs of one of Google's Asia-Pacific based offices and coordinating technical resources at various regional locations. Intern Program Structure

 

● Internships are generally full-time paid positions. Some part-time internships are offered based on business need and local practices.

● Start and end dates are flexible with regard to academic schedules, but interns are generally expected to commit to at least 10-12 weeks.

● Internship headcount is determined based on "Quarters." One quarter lasts 12-14 weeks and an internship can take up more than one quarter if it lasts longer than 14 weeks.

● Students must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors, Masters, MBA or Doctoral program to be eligible.
